Thanks to the wonders of modern society, more known to the public as Youtube, this blog presents the five phantom calls that gave the Miami Heat the 2006 championship.
In this one, Jason Terry's soul touched Dwayne Wade and was fouled.
In this one, Devin Harris obviously did not alter D-Wade's shot.
In this one, I can not even explain how that was a foul.
Why does Wade fall down on every shot?
So obvious that Wade fouled Nowitzki. But we all know who got the call.
If you've been following me on Twitter, I recently changed my Twitter handle to @JejemonDefender since I lost a bet. So... Hey Jejemons just go back to Friendster and don't invade Facebook! Jejejeje.
What better way to pump you up for a game than a heart-stopping theme song? That song you'd always associate with a particularly sporting event. When you hear the "Pussycat Dolls," that means its ESPN on ABC's crappy coverage of the NBA on air. When you hear Sandwich's "Laban Kung Laban" it's ABC's coverage of the PBA. When you hear Boom Gonzalez singing a capella, then you're probably high.
Which brings me, the sport coverage bodies here in the Philippines change their theme songs (if they do have one) every season. I'd prefer for them to use one constant theme over and over again, so when you hear that song, it's game time. Same with the graphics. Let ABS-CBN sports use the same graphic for all of their sport coverages. In their (and many others') case, they use different graphics for every league, every season. It would've been better if they used the same constant graphic for all leagues every time, perhaps the only time it'll be different is if it is broadcast on another channel. (I particularly dislike ABC using ESPN's graphics when it is aired there.)
So here are the top ten theme songs for sporting events, and no, this one isn't included. #10: Olympics on NBC
Unlike the rest of the entries, you'd only hear this every four years. And even though you may not know it, you've probably heard this before,
#9: "Heavy Action" (Monday Night Football theme)
Forget about the Monday Night Wars, this was the thing for sports every Monday nights.
#8: NBA on TNT
This was before the now-familiar black circle with red rims logo of TNT. this was the time when MJ was burning hoops a la your favorite steak house.
#7: Premier League Anthem
No matter what TV station the Barclays Premier League matches air, they'd always use this song over and over again.
#6: "The Hockey Theme"
What's better than a nasty fight on ice? The original "Hockey Theme" on CBC. Since CBC can't pay, CTV bought the rights and remixed it to hell.
#5 "Champions League Anthem"
Again, just like the Premier League anthem, this is the only song they'd use on any broadcaster the Champions League matches air.
#4: College basketball on CBS
It's cheery, and it might be older than you, that's how great this song is.
#3: Major League Baseball on Fox
Even if you're not into baseball, you should've heard this somewhere else.
#2: "The Chain" Formula One on BBC
The bass guitar alone is sure to pump you up to drink up haterade for Fernando Alonso. The original song by Fleetwood Mac.
#1: "Roundball Rock"
There's only one theme song for NBA fanatics the world over: this song from John Tesh. If you're an NBA fan and you don't know this song, then you belong to the "fanboy" class of fans.
2012. You see on the counter tracker. It's all around you. Forget the Transformers. Forget Megan Fox. Forget Charice Pempengco. Forget JoJo. (Hahah) Forget everything else.
2012. Pwns.
(This is a filler post since my keyboard is busted and I can't type long passages. LOL.)
Apparently, another video has surfaced showing Wowowee host practicing his "magic" on screwing-up his contestants on his TV show.
Hey, after humiliating yourself, in national, hell international TV, the host should screw you up, hahahaha
YouTube video after the jump. Apparently, ABS-CBN ordered YouTube to take down the video. More of this crap after the jump.
As you can see, our cute little video is gone. However, I'd have to say that the YouTube video wasn't aired on TV, hence, ABS-CBN can't invoke their DMCA takedown notice unless the video was shot through their very own cameras. If the video came from an ABS-CBN employee using his/her own camera, then ABS-CBN can't sue for copyright since the copyright belongs to the person that recorded the video.
I find this rather silly by YouTube by not exploring their options fully and not investigating the matter.
However, since Blogger is owned by Google, the same company that owns YouTube, it seems YouTube is the only video-sharing website allowed here so i'd have to explore other possibilities to share this goodness. Don't worry, I've downloaded the video beforehand, suspecting ABS-CBN will invoke their "copyright" so I'll re-upload it somewhere else. Probably Rapidshare or Megaupload, so don't worry. You gotta have FLV players though, since it won't work with Windows Media Player, RealPlayer and their imitators.
Also known as the Mavs-Spurs division (Rockets fans are angry), this has to be the toughest division in all of basketball. The last three Western Conference champs came from this division, not to mention the Rockets and the Grizz were able to enter the playoffs in the last three years. The Hornets organization must be crying that they transferred to the Big Easy: Katrina and a competitive division. It sucks to be Chris Paul nowadays, he may have the ROY but Deron had a superb playoff run last year.
Of course the Spurs and the Mavs should emerge on top: the question is which one of them? Will it be the eternally boring SAS or the chokers DAL?
New Orleans - As I've said earlier, Chris Paul is teal with envy. But if Peja emerges from injury scot-free, then they can challenge the Rockets to the division's third spot. Best performance: First round
Houston - Everybody must've forgotten which individual had the biggest choke-job last year; it's not Dirk, it's T-Mac. Haven't even surpassing the first round, T-Mac should retire if he fails to lead the Rockets to the second round. However, if both T-Mac and Yao remain healthy, the Rockets won't be having a problem. Best performance: Second round
Memphis - I betcha you've seen this already, but what the hell...
Sheed must be happy Darko graduated summa cum laude at the Rasheed Wallace School of Linguistics, I wonder how Sheed learned Serbian though. Now really, Darko should impart this to his new teammates, especially the aloof Pau Gasol, who has the Spanish football teams as his idols - always loaded, always failures. Best performance: First round
Dallas - I'll be totally unbiased. The Mavs will win it all this season. Itago nyo sa bato. Best performance: NBA champions
San Antonio - Would Pop regret giving up Scola? Would Duncan injure himself? Would Eva and Tony... never mind. One's thing for sure: The Spurs haven't repeated as NBA champs, much less as Western Conference champions. Best performance: NBA Finals
